Chief Engineer of LGED

The Government of Bangladesh has appointed Mr. Md. Khalilur Rahman as Chief Engineer of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) under the ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives on 8 May 2019. He took charge on 9 May 2019 as Chief Engineer of LGED.

Md. Khalilur Rahman joined LGED in 1983 as an Assistant Engineer and served various positions including Upazila Engineer, Executive Engineer at field level and Project Director at LGED headquarters in 2007 consecutively. Afterwards, he has been promoted as Superintending Engineer in 2012 and as Additional Chief Engineer in 2015.

Md. Khalilur Rahman completed Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1982 and earned Master's in Highway Management and Engineering from Birmingham University, UK in 2000. Apart from, he attended various seminars and workshops on project management, quality control, design and asset management at home and abroad. He is a fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Bangladesh (IEB) and member of American Society for Civil Engineers.

Md. Khalilur Rahman was born in Gorshab village under Kapasia Upazila of Gazipur district. He is blessed by three sons and one daughter.
