Criteria for selection of Bridges under the Project:

• Traffic volume on the road.

• The road should be Upazila roads, Union roads and some important Village roads which will connect the National/Regional Road Network, water transport terminal on a priority basis..

• The road's with single gap would get priority in which the proposed bridge will facilitate easy access to the road users. Roads with two gaps may also be considered in special cases.

• The road connecting GC or rural  Hat/Bazar, Educational Institution,Health Complex etc. would get priority;

The project will be implemented by the Local Government Engineering Department. A Project Director (PD) will be a senior Civil Engineer deputed from LGED. Project Director and other officers and staffs are directly involved in overall activities. The project implementation office at Dhaka will plan and monitor and take necessaries steps for approval of the overall activities of the project and prepare necessary budget for the project. Upazila Engineers along with his technical staff will assist the concerned Executive Engineers, LGED in implementation of the physical programs and ensure quality of works according to specification. The Chief Engineer, LGED will co-ordinate the project activities to ensure proper and smooth implementation of the project.
