Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) being one of the largest engineering agencies of the government and public service entity runs establishments across the country where 98 percent of the total manpower is deployed. The total strength of manpower as shown in the organogram is 13394.

The Administration Unit is directly supervised by the Chief Engineer and he is assisted by one Superintending Engineer. The unit is responsible for appointment, transfer-posting, promotion, discipline, legal matters, electrical and mechanical activities of the department.

Basically the administration unit provides assistance to the Chief Engineer in the smooth running of day to day affairs of the department.
