1.
This
Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project
that appeared in the “ADB Business opportunities”.
2.
The
Government of the People’s Republic of
Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank
(ADB) towards the cost of City Region Development Project (CRDP) ADB Loan no. 2695
BAN (SF), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to
payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is issued.
3.
The Superintending Engineer, Tongi Area, Zone-1, Gazipur City
Corporation, Gazipur now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders from
member countries of ADB for the procurement of the following Goods for the
purpose of the Project.

4.
International
Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single – Stage:
One–Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source
countries.
5.

eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Superintending

and inspect the bidding documents during normal office hours (from 9:00
AM to 5:00 PM) on all working days. Interested
Bidders those are requesting international courier dispatch should pay USD 515.00
more.
6.
A
complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by any interested eligible
bidders on the submission of a written application to the office of the Superintending
Engineer, Tongi Area, Zone-1, Gazipur City Corporation, Gazipur /The
Superintendent of Police, District: Gazipur/ The Deputy Commissioner, District:
Gazipur/The Executive Engineer, LGED, District: Gazipur/ The Project Director,
City Region Development Project, Level-4, RDEC Bhaban, LGED, Dhaka and upon
payment of a non-refundable fee as mentioned above only during normal office
hours on all working days till 29 July
2013. The Mode of Payment will be cash or bank draft. The document
may be sent by surface mail or courier service. No liability will be accepted
for loss or late delivery.
7.
Bids
must be delivered to the office of the Superintending Engineer, Tongi Area,
Zone-1, Gazipur City Corporation, Gazipur at or before 13:00 hours on 30 July 2013. All bids must be accompanied by a bid
security specified in the bid document in favor of the “The Mayor, Gazipur City Corporation, Gazipur” in the form of (a) an unconditional bank
guarantee; (b) an irrevocable letter of credit; or (c) a cashier’s or certified
check. Late Bids shall be
rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the Bidders or his
representatives who choose to attend at the address above 13:15 hours on 30 July 2013.
8.
The Gazipur City Corporation, Gazipur will not be
responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with
the preparation or delivery of bids.
9.
In the comparison of Bids, ADB’s Domestic
Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated
in the Instructions to Bidders.
10.
The
Invitation for Bids (IFB) will be available at the LGED, CPTU and ADB Web Site
(www.lged.gov.bd,
www.cptu.gov.bd
and www.adb.org).
11.
The
Gazipur City Corporation, Gazipur reserves all the rights to accept any
bid or to reject any or all bids without assigning any reasons whatsoever.
