Request for Expressions of Interest (EoI)

 

 Consultancy Services for

Review of Design and Supervision of Construction of Flyover Bridges in Dhaka [Construction of  Moghbazar-Mouchak (Combined) Flyover].

 

 

1. The People’s Republic of Bangladesh has applied for financing from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) in various currencies towards the cost of the construction of Flyover Bridges in Dhaka [Construction of Moghbazar-Mouchak (Combined) Flyover]. It is intended that grant from Government of Bangladesh (GOB) will be applied to eligible payment under the contract for the Consultancy Services for Review of Design and Supervision of Construction of Flyover Bridges in Dhaka.

 

2. The objectives of the Service are to review the design, estimate and tender documents of the flyover and supervise the Construction works. Total length of the flyover is 8.25 km. covering of 8 roads intersections and 2 rail intersections. The estimated cost of the project is 7727.00 Million BDT equivalent to 109.836 Million US$ having a duration of about 3 years.

 

 The consultancy service includes: a) Detail surveying of the proposed flyover site b) Conducting Soil test c) Review structural design and drawing d) Review of detail Engineering Estimate, BOQ & Tender Documents and e) Supervision of Construction works.

 

The service will require both national and international input.

 

3. The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) now invites eligible consultant to indicate their interest in providing the service. Interested consultant must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions; financial resources; availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

 

4. The EOIs would be reviewed on the basis of the following:

a) Registration of Firm.

b) Age of Firm.

c) Availability of key professionals.

d) Availability of resources.

e) Experience of the firm in similar tasks.

f) Experience of the firm in other work.

g) Support services of the firm.

 

 

 

5. Consultants may associate with other firms to enhance their qualifications, and, if association, should mention whether the association is in the form of “Joint venture” or “Sub-Consultancy”.

6. A consulting firm will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Public Procurement Rules 2008 (PPR-2008) of the Government of Bangladesh.

 

7. Interested Consultants may obtain further information at the address below during 09.00 to 17.00 hours excepting government holiday. A short list of firms will be prepared from the expressions of interest for requesting proposal for this assignment.

 

8. Expression of Interest must be delivered to the address below in sealed envelop on or before 18-04-2011 during office hours.
