Brief Description of the Assignment |
LGED now invites
Expression of Interest (EOI) from a Experienced Consulting Firm or Firms in Joint Venture / Association
(National) for conducting the structural design of the 6 (six) bridges. Length with be finalized upon completion of
Hydrological and Morphological Study. A copy of Hydrological and
Morphological Study well be made available to the potential firms. Main Assignment (a)
Conducting Detail Sub-soil Investigation, (b)
Preparation of Details Structural Design of the bridge
considering, ASSHTO LRFD Standard design specification for highway bridges,
Loading ASSHTO HL-93, LGED Design Standard – 2012, Navigational Clearance
from BIWTA shall conform (to be collected from BIWTA for each bridge),
Environmental clearance from DoE shall conform (to be collected from DoE form
each bridge) . (c)
Preparation of design of approach/ access road, river
training work, Bank Revetment, lighting of bridge and drainage system of
approach/ access road if required. (d)
Preparation of estimate of Bridge Structures including
approach / access road, river training work, Bank Revetment, lighting of
bridge and drainage system of approach/ access road if required. (e)
Preparation of completed set of Tender Documents for each
bridge following PPR-2008 and std. Tender document. (f)
Preparation of land acquisition plan if required (g)
Preparation of technical specification (h)
Detail design calculation should be submitted. |

Required Experience |
The Consulting Firm shall have a general
experience of at least 5 (five) years in designing of bridges with the
specific experience in designing of at least 5 (five) large bridges with
length more than 100m (hundred meter) each on upazila road/union road /
village road, out of these designed 5 (five) large bridge, 1(one) bride must
have length of a least 140m (One hundred and forty meter) and also one of the
design bridge must have 40m (forty five meter) PC girder span. All these
designed work must have completed satisfactorily. The EOI shall be submitted
along with the following documents. (a)
Registration of the firm. (b)
Background of the firm with brochures. (c)
Summary of similar
nature of works experience on the last 3 (Three) years with assignment
name/start date/ completion date including financial year. (d)
Organization
information, manpower having relevant experience and professional
qualification. (e)
Availability of
resources. (f)
Support services of
the firm. (g)
Availability of
resources supported by audit report for the last 1 (one) year. (h)
Logistic Services
of the firm. |

Other Information |
Consulting firm will be selected in accordance with the procedures set
out in the Public Procurement Rules-2008 (PPR-2008). Interested consulting
firms may obtain further information from the undersigned Office during 09.00
am to 05.00 pm excepting Govt. Holiday. Final design should be approved by
the PD office in collaboration with LGED design unit and Sub-soil
investigation sub-contractor/consultant shall be approved by the PD
Office. |
