Description of the Assignment |
Soil
Investigation works of the proposed 7 (Seven) Large Bridge sites and the Road
Embankment of Ch: 1.95km to Ch: 10.95km of
Bhangura-Naogaon GCM Road Improvement Project. |

The EOI shall be submitted along with the
following documents. (a)
Registration of the firm, brochures etc. (b)
List of similar nature of completed works during
last 5 (Five) years including assignment name with brief description
/contract date/ completion date & other relevant information. (c)
Organizational information, list of
professional & general manpower with qualification & experience
detail in permanent payroll . (d)
The Firm shall have its own Soil Testing
Laboratory and a geotechnical Engineer (Graduate Civil Engineer from
recognized Institution) (e)
Availability of resources & logistics. (f)
Turnover of last 05 (five) years. |

Other Information |
a)
Consulting firm will be selected in accordance
with the procedures set out in the Public Procurement Rules-2008 (PPR-2008). b) Interested
consulting firms may obtain further information during 09.00AM to 05.00PM
excepting Govt. holiday. c)
Final Report should be approved by the PD office
in collaboration with LGED Design unit. d) To prepare a work plan
showing the time schedule for conducting sub soil investigation and submit
the same to the Project Director, concerned Executive Engineer LGED. e) To
mobilize and start sub soil investigation work with prior information to XEN, UE & the under
signed. f) The sub-soil investigation
equipment shall be checked by UE’s and LT’s concerned [Dimension of Shelby
tubes and Auto Release Hammer etc. They also check the Liquid Limit of
Bentonite Powder (LL>350) and the mix ratio (4%-6%) of Bentonite with
water for preparation of Slurry]. g) The borehole layout plan should be shown in
the longitudinal Profile of Bridge survey map in X, Y, Z co-ordinate. The Z
co-ordinate shall be in respect to SOB/PWD BM. h) To conduct sub-soil investigation work using 100mm exploratory
boring for SPT test and soil sample collection. i) In case of Bridge works,
Soil Test would be done for each & every Piers & Abutment following the
specification of the BOQ as well as per the
TOR. j) In case of Road works, Soil Test would be done at 0.50km intervals
on the selected location Ch:1.95km to 10.95km. following the detailed
specification as per the BOQ as well as per the TOR. k) To take at least 3(Three) digital photo graph of each Boring
operation in presence of LGED’s representatives and the firm’s Engineer
(Graduate Civil Engineer from recognized Institution). l) For each bore-hole, minimum
depth of boring for Bridge works shall be 30m to 40m as per situation and
that of road works be 8 to 10m. If poor quality soil encountered (Say SPT
value<10), the depth shall be extended upto 50m or more (in case of Bridge
works). m) Normally SPT is taken @1.5m interval, but in this case, SPT must be
taken @1m interval upto to 8m depth. n) If clayey soil encountered at any depth during boring, undisturbed
soil samples must be collected with the help of Shelby tubes. o) The Following laboratory test must be carried out: i) Unconfined compression for cohesive soil
(C) ii) Direct shear (Ø) iii)Grain size analysis, Natural Moisture Content,
Liquid Limit, Plastic Limit. vi) N-value cohesion. p) To Submit draft soil test report (2 copies) with all necessary
Data., Information, Bore log, Photograph, Analysis, Comments with result
mentioning soil bearing capacity. Bore log shall contain N-value, soil type ,
water table level (RL). EGL of Borehole Top and date & time of
commencement and completion of each bore-hole shall be mentioned clearly. q) A power point presentation
by the firm would have to be held at LGED Design Unit for review and comment. r) Final soil test report (4
copies) including the comments of LGED’s Design Unit shall be submitted
within 10(Ten) days after presentation. s) TBM of the required Survey works be followed as per the TBM fixed
earlier by the IWM. |
