Selection
of Individual
Consultant: 2 (Two) Nos.

The Government of the People’s Republic of
Bangladesh (GoB) has allocated public funds towards the cost of the
Professional services of LGED, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of
these funds to payments under the contract for the provision of consultancy
services for LGED Design Unit by individual consultant- i) Junior Architect, ii) Estimator.
The qualifications and experience of the Consultants required for the
assignment are as follows:
i) Junior Architect
The
primary objectives of this assignment is to prepare Architectural working
Drawings of various buildings, auditoriums, memorials, functional buildings,
cyclone shelters, markets etc. in consultation with LGED officials and other
professionals.
a)
Duration of the Services:
·
24 (Twenty Four) Months.
b)
Educational Qualification:
·
Bachelor in Architecture from any recognized University
of Bangladesh.
c)
Experience & adequacy for the assignment:
·
Should have 5 (Five) Years experience in different
organization relating to similar assignment.
·
Should have sound knowledge on CAD drawing, plan,
section, perspective view, working drawing etc. of Building and other
infrastructure.
·
Should have knowledge on using standard code of
practice, BNBC, Dhaka Mohanagar Emarat (Nirman, Unnayan, Shongrokhkhon o
Oposharon) Bidhimala, Chittagong Mohanagar Emarat (Nirman, Unnayan,
Shongrokhkhon o Oposharon) Bidhimala and other recent code of practices etc.
·
Should have IAB & RAJUK Enlistment.
·
Computer proficiency in 2D & 3D Modeling by the application of appropriate software and
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint etc.
d)
Suitability:
·
Training in relevant area.
·
Award/Certificate in Architectural Drawing/Model
competition.
·
Member of RAJUK and IAB.
For
outstanding candidate the experience criteria may be relaxed.
ii) Estimator
The primary objectives of this assignment are to
prepare BoQ and Cost Estimate of Bridges, Buildings
and other Civil Engineering Structures in consultation with LGED officials and
other professionals.
a)
Duration of the Services:
·
24 (Twenty Four) Months.
b)
Educational Qualification:
·
Diploma in Civil Engineering from any recognized
Institution of Bangladesh.
c)
Experience & adequacy for the assignment:
·
Shall have 10 (Ten) years experience in different
organization relating to similar assignment.
·
Should have sound knowledge on CAD drawing, plan,
section, perspective view, working drawing, bar bending schedule, analysis of
items of rates etc. of civil engineering infrastructures.
·
Computer proficiency in estimating softwares and
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
d)
Suitability:
·
Training in relevant area etc.
·
Experience on Building and Road structures.
For
outstanding candidate the experience criteria may be relaxed.
The Superintending Engineer (Design) LGED now invites eligible Applicants to apply for the positions. Applicants
are invited to provide information indicating that they are qualified to
perform the services (complete CV with other details as required as per the
Application Forms).
Consultants will be selected using the selection of individual
consultant sub-method in accordance with the Public
Procurement Rules 2008. It is expected that the services will be commenced on 1th
October 2013.
Interested Candidates are requested to submit their expressions of
interest in accordance with the standard Application Forms (PS4, August 2009,
Standard Request for Application) which may be obtained from the office of the
undersigned during normal office hours. A complete set of “Request for
Application” including Term of Reference may also be obtained from the office
of the undersigned.
Expressions of Interest shall be
submitted by 2.00 PM on 19/08/2013, in sealed envelope delivered to Md. Khalilur Rahman, SE, (Design) and
be clearly marked “Request for Expressions of Interest for Selection of Individual Consultant” including name of the post.
The
Client reserves the right to accept or reject any/all Expression of Interest
(EOIs).
