Request for Expression of Interest
For
Selection of Individual Consultant (Junior
Electrical Engineer)

The Chief Engineer, LGED has been allocated public funds from the
Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh (GoB)
toward the cost of the professional services of LGED
and intends to apply part of the proceeds of these funds to payments under the
contract for the provision of consultancy services for LGED design unit by
individual consultant (Junior Electrical Engineer).
The
services include:
Engineering Consultancy services to LGED Design Unit. The consultant shall develop & prepare
detail Electrical design and Drawings of different types of infrastructures
like multi-storied office and residential buildings, auditoriums, memorials,
primary school cum cyclone shelter, market etc. He / She shall also be
responsible to prepare specification & rate analysis for electrical items
not covered by LGED rate schedule. He/She shall
undertake field visit all over Bangladesh as and when necessary.
The qualification and experience
required for the assignment is as follows:

Duration
of service

b) Educational
Qualification:
·
B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from any reputed
University.
C) Experience
& adequacy for the assignment:
·
Should have
overall experience of 5 years with at least 4 years working experience of electrical
design in the relevant field of assignment.
·
Should have
knowledge on design of multi-storied building of electrification work including
Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning system; design of sensors for the fire
fighting works and other related electrical works using electrical standard
code of practices, BNBC, Electrical works design software etc.
·
Should have
knowledge on available electrical item & current market price for
preparation of rate schedule.
d) Suitability:
·
Professional
affiliation (mention Reg. No.) with National / International body, Training in
relevant area, computer skill ( Knowledge and skill on
various computer software).
For outstanding candidate the experience criteria may
be relaxed.
The Superintending Engineer (Design) now invites eligible
Applicants to apply for the positions.
Applicants are invited to provide information indicating that they are
qualified to perform the services (complete CV with other details as required
as per the Application Forms)
Consultant will be selected
using the selection of individual consultant sub-method in accordance with the Public Procurement Rules 2008. It is expected that
the services will be commenced on January /2014 and shall be completed by
December/ 2015.
Interested consultants are requested to submit their expressions of
interest in accordance with the standard Application Forms (PS4, August 2009,
Standard Request for Application) which may be obtained from the office of the
undersigned during normal office hours (or available in the website: www.lged.gov.bd).
A complete set of “Request for Application” including Terms of Reference may
also be obtained from the office of the undersigned.
Expressions of Interest shall be
submitted by 2.00 PM on 28-11-2013, in sealed envelope delivered to the office
of the undersigned and be clearly marked “Request for Expressions of
Interest for Selection of Individual Consultant (Junior Electrical Engineer).
