About Meherpur

Meherpur District town stands on the Bank of the Bhoirab river and located at 23.350 to 23.580 latitude and 88.360 to 88.560 west longitude. It was declared as a district in 24 February 1984. It was named after the name of Islamic preacher and Darbesh "Meher Ali Shah". It consists of three upazilas, two Pourashava (municipality) and eighteen Union Parishad.
