Rajbari District stands on the Bank of the river Padma and Hori, Chandona & Gorai. It is located at 22º 40׳-50” N 89º 19׳-40” S. Rajbari was established in Eighteenth Century. Rajbari was declared as a district in 1st March of 1984. Rajbari district was named by King Surja Kumar who was Jaminder of Lakkhikol estate. It consist of 5(five) Upazila, Three (3) Pourashava and Forty two (42) Union. The Intercommunication system of the Districty is enormously developed in last two decades. As a result most of the villages are jeepable.Jute, Sugarcane, Onion, Garlic are the prime crops of Rajbari. Rajbari is renowned for cultural persons as well as religious places, Of them Padmdi Monumia and Sonumia’s Majar, Shajui Majar are remarkable. Renowned novelist Mir Mosharaf Hossain’s Academy is at Rejbari. Rajbari is one of the portential Districts in Bangladesh in all respect.
