The People’s Republic of Bangladesh has received financing from
the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the OPEC Fund for International
Development (OFID) toward the cost of Third Urban Governance and
Infrastructure Improvement (Sector) Project (UGIIP-III), and it intends to
apply part of the proceeds of this financing to payments under the contract
named above. Bidding is open to bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

The Project Director, Third Urban
Governance and Infrastructure Improvement (Sector) Project (UGIIP-III), Local
Government Engineering Department (LGED) now invites sealed Bids from
eligible Bidders for the Procurement of 20(Twenty) Nos. Excavator. Brief Description of Goods: (Detailed Technical Specification
provided in the bidding documents). Excavator with
Backhoe suitable for work on multiple surfaces such as grass, pavement or
stone without damaging the surface or machine and cutting edge type back fill
blade suitable for quick clear up of jobsites and for general grading and
leveling. The excavator shall have high performance, low noise and elegance
design. Operating
Weight: 3500 – 4000 Kg (with back fill blade & cab and without counter
weight) Engine Power:
Minimum 22 KW at rated rpm Type: Multi
cylinder, 4 strokes, water cooled, Direct fuel Injection type naturally
aspirated or turbo-diesel engine with minimum EURO-II/TIER-II or equivalent
emission standard. Fuel Tank:
Minimum 45 Lt Hydraulic oil
Tank: Minimum 50 Lt Engine Oil

International competitive bidding will be conducted in
accordance with ADB’s Single–Stage:
One–Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from
eligible countries as described in the bidding document. |

The Bidding Document, in the English
language, may be purchased directly by interested Bidders on the submission
of a written application to the address above and upon payment of a
nonrefundable fee BDT 15,000.00 (Local
delivery) or US$ 190.00 (Overseas delivery). The method of payment will
be either in pay order or demand draft from any schedule bank of Bangladesh
in favor of the Project Director, Third Urban Governance and Infrastructure
Improvement (Sector) Project (UGIIP-III), Local Government Engineering
Department, Dhaka, Bangladesh. |
6. |
Bids must be delivered to the address
above at or before at 14:00 PM on 9
November 2016. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the
amount as described in the Bidding Document. Bid submission within specified
date and time is sole responsibility of the bidder. Authority will not bear
any responsibility in this regard. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be
opened in the presence of the Bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend
at the address mentioned below at 14:15
PM on 9 November 2016. |

Meeting for clarification will be held on 10 October, 2016 at
11.00 AM in the office of the Project Director. |
8. |
The Project Director, Third Urban Governance and Infrastructure
Improvement (Sector) Project (UGIIP-III), Local Government Engineering Department,
will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in
connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids. |
