Brief
Description of the Assignment |
·
Assess the
short, mid and long term labour market needs across all trades of vocational
training under the project; ·
Assess
what is being taught in the training and the mismatch with labour market
demand as against the planned vocational training in various trades; ·
Propose
how the said curricula can be improved in order to get job to the current and
future labour market; ·
Understand
the present status of employment of trained beneficiaries and their
sustainability in jobs/self employment (Segregated by gender region and
trades) ·
Assess the present income status of the trained
beneficiaries after employment/ self employment. (Segregated by gender region
and trades) ·
Obtain the views of employers regarding level of skills
and aptitude of HILIP trained beneficiaries (Segregated by gender region,
trades and service provider) ·
Find out the most demanded trades in respective regions
( with gender perspective) ·
Find out those who haven’t joined job , what they are
doing now (Case basis) ·
Compare the progress ( in terms of salary/income ,
promotion, growth and any other justifiable factor) of a HILIP trained
personnel and an outsider, without any skills training, working in the same
organization and preferably in the same post or working for the same duration. ·
Identify
the impact of training on the employment opportunities of the
participants(male and female separately) ·
Identify
the effectiveness of existing training courses. ·
Suggest
changes those need to be done in the existing training courses. ·
Identify
and suggest additional relevant courses those can lead to better employment
opportunities. ·
Find
the employment opportunities offered by the employer as against each trade of
the project; ·
Focus
on: (i) validation the list of trades that HILIP
has planned; (ii) identifying potential new trades for vocational trainings. The study should cover 5 (five) project districts
of Netrokona, Kishoreganj, Brahmanbaria, Habiganj and Sunamganj that includes
28 project upazilas |

Experience,
Resources & Delivery Capacity Required |
·
At least a master’s degree in a relevant discipline,
preferably in Marketing, Economics, Social Science. · At least 5 years of proven research and
economic analysis experience. · Demonstrated
understanding of the job markets for various vocational activities including
entrepreneurship development in the livelihood sector. · Have
understanding on vocational sector/activities. Good understanding of the
reasons for unemployment considering financial constraints, education,
skilled/unskilled, poor and so on. · Ability to produce well written,
analytical reports in English, which is
essential. · Strong quantitative and qualitative data
analysis skills. · Ability to speak and understand local
languages of the people of the
project areas will be an advantage · Proposal should include: Up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV) |
