The Government of the People’s
Republic of Bangladesh (GoB) has allocated public funds towards the cost of the
Professional services of LGED, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of
these funds to payments under the contract for the provision of consultancy
services for Greater Faridpur Rural Infrastructure Development
(1st revised) Project by
individual consultant- i) Structural Engineer, ii) CAD operator
.
The qualifications and experience of the
Consultants required for the assignment are as follows:
i) Structural Engineer
The primary objectives of this assignment is to prepare Structural
Design and Drawings of various
infrastructures like construction of Road, Bridges (more than 30 meter span)
and other infrastructures etc. in consultation with LGED officials and other
professionals. He/ She shall be responsible to prepare specification & rate
analysis for item of rates not covered by LGED rate schedule. He/ she shall
undertake field visit to Project area as an when
necessary.
The qualification and experience required for the assignment is as
follows:

Duration of the
Services:
·
21 (Twenty one) Months or end of
the Project which one is earlier.
·
Educational
Qualification:
·
B.SC in civil Engineering from
any recognized
·
Experience &
adequacy for the assignment:
·
Must have minimum 5 (years)
working experience in the relevant field of assignment. Experience on Design of
Pre-Stress Concrete Structure design will be appreciated.
·
Should have knowledge on using
infrastructure standard code of practice (AASHTO, ACI etc.) for analysis and
structural design of structure as stated above. Working with BNBC Membership of
BPERB will be an advantage.
·
Should have sound knowledge on
CAD drawing, plan, section, perspective view, etc. of Bridge and other
infrastructure..
·
Computer proficiency in 2D &
3D Modeling by the application of appropriate software
and Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint etc.
·
Should have experience as a
supervision Engineer of Bridge construction.
Suitability:
·
Computer proficiency in
structural analysis and Design with application of appropriate software like
STAAD-Pro, MIDAS, SAP-2000
·
Training in relevant area.
·
Member of IEB.
For outstanding candidate the experience criteria
may be relaxed.
ii) CAD Operator
The primary objectives of this assignment are to prepare Drawing of
bridges and other structures using AutoCAD in consultation with LGED officials
and other professionals.

Duration of the
Services:
·
21 (Twenty one) Months or end of
the Project which one earlier.
·
Educational
Qualification:
·
Diploma in Civil Engineering from
any recognized Institution of Bangladesh.
·
Experience &
adequacy for the assignment:
·
Shall have overall 10 (Ten) years
experiences with at least 8 (eight) years professional experience in relevant
field.
·
Experience must have include
preparing all types of AotoCAD design, Drawing, bar bending schedule etc. of
bridges and other infrastructures entrusted.
·
Should have sound knowledge on
plan, section, perspective view, working drawing, bar bending schedule,
analysis of items of rates etc. of civil engineering infrastructures.
·
Computer proficiency in relevant
softwares and Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
·
Suitability:
·
Training in relevant area etc.
·
Experience on Road structures and
other infrastructures.
For outstanding candidate the experience criteria
may be relaxed.
The Project Director, Greater Faridpur Rural Infrastructure
Development (1st revised)Project, LGED now invites eligible Applicants to apply for the positions.
Applicants are invited to provide information indicating that they are
qualified to perform the services (complete CV with other details as required
as per the Application Forms).
Consultants will be selected using the selection of
individual consultant sub-method in accordance with the Public Procurement Rules 2008. It is expected that the services will be
commenced on 1st October 2013and The project will be
ended on 30th june,2015.
Interested Candidates are requested to submit their
expressions of interest in accordance with the standard Application Forms (PS4,
August 2009, Standard Request for Application) which may be obtained from the
office of the undersigned during normal office hours. A complete set of
“Request for Application” including Term of Reference may also be obtained from
the office of the undersigned.
Expressions of Interest shall be submitted by 2.00 PM on 02/09/2013, in sealed envelope

The Client reserves the right to accept or reject
any/all Expression of Interest (EOIs).
