Rural Transport Improvement Project (RTIP)

Invitation for Tenders (IFT)

IFT No. 52/2009-2010

The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received for a Credit from the International Development Association (Hereinafter referred to as the IDA) towards the cost of the Rural Transport Improvement Project (RTIP) and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the contract(s) as mentioned in para-2. Participation to Tendering is open to all tenders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits.

The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, represented by the Executive Engineer, LGED, District: Dhaka invites sealed tenders from eligible tenderers for the construction and completion of the following works:

3.	The tenderers may inspect the Tender Documents, obtain further information and clarification at the office of the Executive Engineer, LGED, 62 West Agargaon, Sher-E-Bangla Nagaor-1207, Tel: 8155657 or the office of the Project Director, RTIP (RDP-26), LGED Bhaban (Level-5), Agargaon, Sher-E-Bangla Nagaor-1207, Tel: 9122435, 9122432. The eligibility and qualification criteria shall be strictly followed along with other criteria and employer's requirements set out in the tender documents.
4.	A Pre-Tender Conference will be held on 10/05/2010 at 12.00 am in the office of the undersigned and all Tenderers are requested to attend the conference on time.
5.	A complete set of Tender Documents may be purchased by any eligible tenderer from the office of the Project Director, RTIP (RDP-26), [LGED Bhaban (Level-5), Agargaon, Sher-E-Bangla Nagaor, Dhaka-1207] or The Deputy Commissioner, District-Dhaka or the Executive Engineer, LGED, District: Dhaka or Savar Upazila on submission of a written application upon the payment of a non-refundable fee as mentioned in para-2 for each set in the form of pay Order/Bank Draft from any scheduled Bank in Bangladesh drawn in favor of the Executive Engineer, LGED, District: Dhaka. Additional sets of Tender Documents may be purchased at the same price. The Tender Documents will be available during office hours from 29/04/2010 to 07/06/2010
6.	All Tenders must be accompanied by a Tender Security of amount as mentioned in table, para-2, in the form of Bank Draft/Pay Order/Demand Draft/Unconditional Bank Guarantee drawn in favor of the Executive Engineer, LGED, District: Dhaka.
7.	All Tenders must be delivered to the Office of the undersigned on or before 2:00pm of 08/06/2010
8.	Tenders will be opened at 2:15 pm on 08/06/2010 at the office of the undersigned in presence of the Tenderers or their authorized representatives who choose to attend.
9.	Tenderers may deliver/submit tenders personally or by registered mail or by courier services, etc. and tenders must reach to the office of the undersigned on or before 2:00 pm on 08/06/2010
10.	General information regarding the tendering will be available at the LGED Web Site (http://www.lged.gov.bd) and CPTU Web Site (http://www.cptu.gov.bd).
11.	The authority reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Tenders without assigning any reason.
