Request for Expression of Interest

For

Selection of Individual Consultant

The Chief Engineer, LGED has been allocated public funds from the Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh (GoB) toward the cost of the Professional services of LGED, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of these funds to payments under the contract for the provision of consultancy services for the project by individual consultant (national).

 

The services include:

a) Architectural Consultant services to LGED Design Unit. The consultant shall develop & prepare architectural design criteria and detail Design for different type of building, monument, bridge deck geometry, structures of national importance including interior design and landscaping works. He / She shall be responsible for preparation of other interior and architectural design drawing as assigned by the authority. All arrangements are time bound. He / She shall undertake field visit all over Bangladesh when necessary.

 

b) Engineering Consultant services to LGED Design Unit The consultant shall develop & prepare structural design criteria and detail Design for buildings and related structure, sub-structure type etc. including selection of appropriate type of foundation of buildings based on sub-soil investigation report. He / She shall be responsible for any design related to building assigned by the authority.

 

The qualification and experience required for the assignment are as follows:

 

Interior Designer Architect:

 

a)       Educational Qualification:

·         Minimum Bachelor in Architect from any reputed University.

 

b)      Experience & adequacy for the assignment:

 

·         Must have overall working experience of 10 years with at least 8 years working experience in the relevant field of assignment.

·         Should have sound knowledge on planning and performing Architectural design of different types of multistoried functional buildings, Auditoriums/multipurpose halls, memorials, cyclone shelters, markets and other infrastructures.

·         Should have knowledge on using standard code of practice, BNBC, ACI and Dhaka Mohanagar Emarat Iyn for in Architectural and Interior design of various types of buildings as assigned.

·         Computer proficiency in Architectural and Interior design with 3D Modeling by the application of appropriate software.

 

c)       Suitability:

 

·         Professional affiliation (mention Reg. No.) with National / International body, Training in relevant area etc.

·          Award/certificate in Architectural Design/Model competition. 

 

For outstanding Candidate the experience criteria may be relaxed.

 

Structural Engineer (Building)

 

a)                    Educational Qualification:

 

·                     B.Sc in Civil Engineering from any reputed University.

 

b)                  Experience & adequacy for the assignment:

 

·                     Must have overall working experience of 5 years with at least 3 years working experience in the relevant field of assignment.

·                     Should have knowledge on using infrastructure standard code of practice, BNBC,ACI etc. for analysis and structural design of  building and other structure as stated above.

·                     Computer proficiency in structural analysis and Design with the application of appropriate software like STAAT-Pro, ETAPS etc.

 

d)                  Suitability:

 

·                     Professional affiliation (mention Reg. No.) with National / International body, Training in relevant area etc.

The Superintending Engineer (Design) LGED now invites eligible Applicants to apply for the positions. . Applicants are invited to provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (complete CV with other details as required as per the Application Forms)

 

 Consultant will be selected using the selection of individual consultant sub-method in accordance with the Public Procurement Ruless 2008. It is expected that the services will be commenced on June’ 2011 and shall be completed by May 2014.

 

Interested consultants are requested to submit their expressions of interest in accordance with the standard Application Forms (PS4, August 2009, Standard Request for Application) which may be obtained from the office of the undersigned during normal office hours (or available in the website: www. cptu.gov.bd. / RFP. AS PX). A complete set of “Request for Application “ including Term of Reference may also be obtained from the office of the undersigned.     

 

Expressions of Interest shall be submitted by 2.00 PM on 24-04-2011, in sealed envelope delivered to Md. Abul Kalam Azad and be clearly marked “Request for Expressions of Interest for Selection of Individual Consultant.
