Implementation Strategy:
The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) will implement the project. The project will be implemented by a suitably staffed at project management office (PMO), to be established by LGED at LGED H/Q, Dhaka. A full-time Project Director will be responsible for the overall project implementation & coordination and will report to the Chief Engineer of LGED. The Local Government Division will issue rules,regulations and guidelines for its implementation. The Project Director will be a senior Civil Engineer deputed from LGED.
Two Project Implementation Units, one in each district, will be formed in the district headquarters of Gaibandha and Kurigram. The units will be headed by Executive Engineers,LGED of respective district.PIUs will be responsible for physical implementation of the project.
International Consulting Firm for Review Design and Supervision Consultancy Services will be engaged to assist the Project Director. The Chief Engineer of LGED will co-ordinate the project activities to ensure proper and smooth implementation of the project.
