The principal objective of the project is to improve municipal governance and basic urban services in selected Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

The specific objectives will include:

i) Enhance delivery of basic urban services including Operation and maintenance (O&M);

ii) Improvement in municipal governance, financial management, and own-source revenue generation;

iii) Strengthening the institutional capacity of ULBs in planning, financial management, implementation, operation and maintenance in an effective and sustainable manner
