Project Implementation Strategy

The whole road will be improved up to that standard for movement of heavy vehicles for transporting construction materials, plant and equipment for the proposed power plant. Considering the load and traffic volume as well as request from BPDB, the design and specification of Khulna-Mongla Highway has been followed. The level of the proposed road will be the same as the level of Khulna- Mongla Highway. The embankmentwill be widened and upgraded up to 10.80 m wide and 1.50 m above the flood level. Carried earth will be provided to limit the amount of land acquisition. Besides, bus bays will be provided on the road. To furnish this operation, the road will have 6.40m carriageway and 1.20m hard shoulder on both sides. Apart from that 1.00m earthen shoulders will be provided on both sides of the pavement. The desired bridges/culverts will be designed on the basis of HS20 loading. Sufficient walkway and lane width would be provided as per the requirement.
