Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (MOLGRD&C) is responsible for the overall execution and implementation of the project. The implementing agency of the project is LGED, headed by the Chief Engineer (CE). LGED has established a Project Management Unit (PMU) headed by an experienced and senior Civil Engineer of LGED as Project Director (PD). Project Management Unit (PMU) and Field level officials are responsible for carrying out day-to-day project activities. A Design and Supervision consultant team will be responsible for the preparation of detailed designs and bidding documents for the project, as well as for construction supervision. An Independent Monitoring and Evaluation Consultancy Farm works under Chief Engineer for overall project monitoring and reported to the Chief Engineer as well as World Bank.
