Project Implementation Strategy

The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives (MOLGRD&C) is responsible for the overall execution and implementing agency for the project.
A Project Management Office (PMO), comprising of competent staff has been established at LGED HQ in Dhaka. A Full-time Project Director (PD) deputed from existing LGED set up leading the PMO. The Project Director will be responsible for the overall project management, implementation and co-ordination and will report to the Chief Engineer of LGED.
The Executive Engineer, LGED of the respective project districts will be responsible for implementing all the civil works of the project within the district and accountable to the Project Director, for this project. He is provided with incremental staff from the project.
Upazila Engineers of the project districts along with his technical staff are to assist the concerned Executive Engineers, LGED in implementation of the civil works and ensure execution of works in accordance with the technical specifications and maintain quality of works.
The Chief Engineer, LGED will co-ordinate the project activities to ensure proper and smooth and timely implementation of the project.
There are provision of A Project steering committee and project Implementation committee in the DPP which are in function to identify the problems during implementation of works and to solve the impeding issues if any. Co-ordination and Monitoring unit (PCMU) under planning commission assigned for responsible the overall co-ordination and monitoring of project activities.
