Objectives:

In line with the national policies like i) Outline Perspective Plan, ii) Sixth Five Year Plan iii) Millennium Development Goal, iv) National Rural Development Policy 2001 & National Urban Sector Policy 2011, the NOBIDEP is aimed to contribute to the overall goal of promoting economic growth and reducing poverty in the 14 Districts of northern region of Bangladesh. Toward this end, the Project objectives are as follows:

 Extend access to rural infrastructures and services,
for all kinds of people including the poor and women;
 Extend access urban infrastructures and services for
all kinds of people including the poor and women, and
 Improve urban governance in participating Pourashava

This will be achieved through improving and sustaining:
1) Rural infrastructure,
2) Urban infrastructure, service delivery and governance; and
3) Linkages between rural and urban areas.
