Bogra district town stands on the bank of the Karotoa River and it is located at 240 32' - 25018' N and 88057' - 89044' E. It was establised in the Eighteenth Century. Bogra has 12 Upazilas, 11 Pourasavas, 108 Unions & 1399 Mouzas. Bogra district is full of historcal places like Mohasthan Meuseum, Mahasthan Garh, Bashu Bihar, Behula Bashar Ghar and Gobindha Vita rich in ancient buddist architectures, arts and cultures located at Shibgonj Upazila 12 km from Bogra City. Kherua Mosque at Sherpru Upazila is an aother eye-catching structure bearing symbol ancient muslim architecture. During British Period Regional Adminstrative Center was established in the Bogra City. Magistrate Court, Police Station, Telegraph Office, Bogra Pourashava and other regional government offices started activities since 1876. Bogra Sahid Minar was first estabilished in 1953 on Altafunnesha play ground. Azizul Haque Government College relentless in the persuit of knowledge is the highest educational institution of this region. Their are two big Cantonments, an International Cricat Stadium and a Medical College.
