Bogra district town stands on the bank of the Karotoa River and it is located at 240 32' - 25018' N and 88057' - 89044' E. It was establised in the Eighteenth Century. Bogra has 12 Upazilas, 11 Pourasavas, 108 Unions & 1399 Mouzas.
