To support Government’s policy in achieving 7th FYP and SDGs the main objectives are:

(i) Development, Rehabilitation and Enhancement of small scale water resources infrastructure of 300 (50 new development and 250 rehabilitation/enhancement) subprojects covering about 72,500 ha cultivated area to increase agricultural production of about 83320 MT (cereal & non-cereal crops), fisheries production of about 150MT and establishing sustainable water management system.

(ii) Strengthening operation and maintenance by institutionalizing beneficiary participation and by capacity building of WMCAs.

(iii) Strengthening Government institutions in establishing sustainable water management system.

(iv) Enhancing the access of the landless poor in the subproject areas to employment opportunities and to common natural resources.
